A collection of tables made of Murano Glass and solid Mahogany wood.
The Venetian lagoon is studded with 123 islands, whether hidden or tentatively exposed beyond the water’s unassuming surface. Each islet tells a story of ancient treasures buried leagues beneath the sands of time; San Giorgio, Poveglia, Mazorbo are some of their evocative names. The patient sculpting of the seasons inspires the careful crafting of the contours as the glass reflects the peaks of earth and light until it meets the water’s edge. A sandblasted silhouette skilfully emerges by the artisan’s instinctive hand, Murrina Glass illuminating a prism of light as if the past were in the present, delicately unveiled.
Murrine are a centuries old glass production from Murano island. This project explores new methods of production and products typologies for innovation within a traditional context.
Layers pf material are being exposed through digital technology tools.
