Bitta is an urban seat, inspired by the traditional bitts located along the lagoon of Venice. The project incorporates both in its form and function the essence of that element: the possibility to transform a movement into stasis. The structure is made of two principal parts: a portion of worn-out briccola, shaped to create the seat, and a steel base that appears in three different heights according to the human activities carried out in the city environment.
The diagonal engraving of the briccola, from the outer crust to its intact heart, emphasises the consumption gradation of the wood, and testifies its particular origins.
